A growing movement
Whole Ground is not alone in this work. The organizations listed here have been doing this longer, in some cases for decades — building research, training healthcare providers, supporting families, and advocating for policy change. We are grateful for what they've built and encourage you to explore their resources.
We link only to organizations whose values and approach we believe align with our own: evidence-based, family-centered, and committed to a gentle, non-judgmental tone.
Your Whole Baby is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Texas, founded to provide gentle, accurate education about intact penis care, foreskin function, and the harms of circumcision. Their tone is warm and parent-focused — exactly the voice many families need when they're navigating a subject that can feel overwhelming.
Their website includes practical guides on intact care by age, common concerns like ballooning and smegma, what to do if a healthcare provider attempts forced retraction, and how to find intact-friendly providers. They also produce printable handouts for healthcare settings.
Intact America is the largest advocacy organization in the United States working to end routine infant circumcision. Founded in 2008, they focus on changing the way America thinks about circumcision through media engagement, policy advocacy, and public awareness campaigns. In 2021, they merged with Genital Autonomy-America, the organization originally founded as NOCIRC by nurse Marilyn Milos in 1985.
Their initiatives include the "Skin in the Game" storytelling campaign — personal accounts from people affected by circumcision — and DoNoHarm.report, a free tool for filing medical complaints about forced retraction and circumcision-related harm.
Whole Ground links to external organizations as a resource for families seeking more information. Listing here does not imply full endorsement of every position or publication by these organizations. We encourage you to read widely and reach your own conclusions. If you are aware of an organization you believe should be included here, please reach out via our contact page.
